Theatre Arts

The Theatre Arts program is designed to give students a comprehensive view of the wonderful world of Theatre from being on stage to behind the scenes. The students are introduced to theatre as an art form and learn how it applies to the world in which we live. Throughout the school year, the students are exposed to acting technique through observation, memory development, improvisation, vocal work, movement – all the necessary tools for character analysis and development. Further study includes theatre history, technical production, directing, theatre etiquette, arts evaluation/ appreciation and playwriting. Our program is divided into three levels of focus: Level I – Elements of Theatre, Level II – Techniques of Theatre and Level III – Theatre Production. Our goal is to guide our students as they develop a life-long respect and appreciation of theatre.
