Eighth grade EESS magnet students in GT science will take High School biology for their GT science course. In 2010, SMMS was the first school in Baltimore County to take High School biology in middle school. The students will take the Maryland HSA for Biology in the spring. These students have the potential of earning three high school credits in science: Environmental Science at the end of their 7 th grade year, and both Earth and Space Science, and Biology at the end of their 8 th grade year.
